DTE's Reliability Request Form Might Save You Some Storm Grief

By: Amy Cooper, ACRONYM

If you're still out of power from last week's storm, we might have some good news for you!

Many users of companies like DTE were complaining that they still don't have power but their bills are still coming after the major storm that hit Metro Detroit last week. Well it turns out that there is a way to potentially get some of those funds back, if you qualify.

There is a rule that was developed by the Michigan Public Service Commission, according to the Detroit Free Press that states if you "have been without power for more than 5 days, you could be eligible for a credit on your utility bill."

If your request is denied, DFP shares that you should call the MPSC at 800-292-9555.
