With all the nerds out in force this weekend between Motor City Comic Con (May 19-May 21) and Pottercon (May 21), there was a lot of things for all of us to do this weekend!
When you talk about Comic Con, you obviously know that people are A, going to be buying awesome comics and artwork, and B, there will be some sweet cosplays to be seen. For this being my first Comic Con, I got to see first hand the creativity of all of these Metro Detroiters who poured their hearts and souls into their cosplays.
Out of all the people I met, I was particularly impressed with one of the Wonder Woman's I came across (in the gallery), The Flash, (in the Instagram Post and Gallery), as well as a Kylo Ren I met, who had the voice coder and everything.
Another thing to note is all of the cool panels that existed during the Con. When I arrived, I got to attend a press conference with Guardians Of The Galaxy's Michael Rooker, who told the story of how the "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!" line in the Vol. 2 story came to be (see the video here), as well as later attending a panel for my favorite Gotham character, Oswald Cobblepot / Penguin (played by Robin Lord Taylor). Other celebrity guests included John Barrowman (Doctor Who, Arrow), and Wil Wheaton (Star Trek, The Big Bang Theory).
On top of that, and some throwback wrestlers from yesteryear, there were some amazing artists, who's cards I definitely pocketed for later - like Rise Art & Design (pictured above / thumbnail).
Take a look at all of what was seen - and believe me - this was only a portion of it. The thing about cons is that you could wander around all three days and still miss some people, and see it later scrolling through Facebook or Instagram!
